Project Description

Winter Harp performs Girl in the Red Skirt at the 11th World Harp Congress in Vancouver, Canada 2011.
The piece features classical pedal harp, lever harp and percussion. It was written by Winter Harp director Lori Pappajohn and is available by contacting her on her website www.winterharp.com.

The piece was inspired by Deborah Henson-Conant’s dramatic Baroque Flamenco. While in the process of composing the Girl in the Red Skirt, Lori Pappajoh workshopped it several times with Deborah Henson-Conant to infuse the piece with the power and drama that Deborah Henson-Conant is so well known for.
Girl in the Red Skirt can also be played by a solo harp — lever harp or pedal harp. Both versions — for 2 harps — and solo harp are available.
